Our story

It Started With Three Friends

Nobody was referred here. People came because they wanted to, and they kept coming back.

  1. 2021

    The Beginning

Three friends began meeting regularly during the COVID period to play console, board and card games.

What began informally quickly grew as more friends joined.

  2. 2022

    The Idea Becomes Something More

As attendance continued beyond COVID, the founders recognised that the gatherings had developed into a genuine community.

At the end of 2022, Ebenezer Ogunbunmi, Omari Forrester and Malik Edwards decided to formalise the idea and create Club GVNR.

  3. 2023

    Club GVNR Officially Launches

The first official Club GVNR sessions began May 2023.

Saturday became the club's regular meeting day.

  4. 2024 to 2026

    Organic Growth

    The community continued expanding.

More than 60 different people have participated over time.

Regular members formed genuine friendships and increasingly contributed to the club themselves.

  5. Today

    Beyond The Games

Club GVNR has developed beyond simply playing games. Members now bring music, creativity, sport, skills, professional connections, volunteering, opportunities and ideas into the community.

The next step is the GVNR Community Hub.
